What Are the Maintenance Methods of LCD?

Liquid crystal is a special substance between solid and liquid. It is an organic compound, normally liquid, but its molecules are arranged as regularly as solid crystals, so it is named liquid crystal. LCD display is a type of display used in digital clocks and many portable computers, which has many advantages such as "low power consumption, no radiation, no vertigo" and so on. Now LCD displays can be seen everywhere in life, such as notebook computers, LCD TVs, mobile phones, SLR cameras and so on. Nowadays, liquid crystal display screen has become a necessary electronic product for many people. So what are the maintenance methods for LCD displays?

Ⅰ. Observe the LCD display

The method of observation is to check the obvious problems of the display by means of seeing, hearing, touching, sniffing and so on. Observation should not only be careful, but also comprehensive. The contents usually observed include: whether there are abnormal phenomena such as deformation, discoloration and odor in the surrounding environment and the display, for example, whether the safety tube is blackened, whether the filter capacitance is abnormal, and whether there are significant virtual solder joints. Through observation, by looking for obviously damaged components, we can roughly judge the size and scope of the problem, and even find the problem immediately.

Ⅱ. Visual inspection method of LCD display

The intuitive inspection method of LCD module means that when the display is abnormal, most of the problems can be observed from monitors such as the display screen. During the maintenance, according to the observed problems, combined with the cause and process of the problems provided by the user, the possible location of the problem is preliminarily determined after analysis. As the circuit structure of the display is more complex, the problems in different parts may have the same phenomenon, that is, a problem may be caused by a variety of reasons. This requires careful observation, inspection and analysis, and then find out the real part of the problem until the problem is eliminated.

Ⅲ. Static resistance measurement of LCD display

The static resistance measurement method mainly measures whether there are significant short-circuit and short-circuit components, and the short-circuit components must be excluded before power-on maintenance, otherwise it will enlarge the problem and increase the difficulty and cost of maintenance.

Ⅳ. Current measurement of LCD display

LCD module is one of the basic ways to maintain the circuit, and it is a way to measure the load current and working current of transistors and IC chips. It is used to detect whether the load of integrated circuits, transistors and their power sources is normal or not. If the working state of the transistor or IC chip is normal, then the measured load current should be normal. If the measured current varies greatly from the normal value, then there may be something wrong in the circuit and it should be checked emphatically.

Ⅴ. Voltage measurement of LCD display

Another method often used to maintain the display circuit is the voltage measurement, which mainly measures the working voltage of the circuit and components to determine location and components that have problems, for example, measuring whether the + 300V DC voltage in the power supply circuit is normal, whether the starting voltage is normal, whether the protection circuit is acting, whether the output voltage is normal, and so on.

All mentioned above is the introduction of the maintenance mode of LCD display. Now LCD has replaced CRT to become a mainstream, and has been fully popularized. If the water has entered the LCD display, you should put the LCD display in a warmer place and gradually evaporate the moisture inside. If you want to prolong the life span of LCD and reduce its aging speed, you need to pay special attention to it when you use it.
