Analysis of Resolution and Contrast of LCD Module

1. The resolution of the LCD module

The resolution of the liquid crystal display module is a very important performance index. It refers to the number of dots that can be displayed in the horizontal and vertical directions on the screen (the lines and surfaces displayed on the screen are composed of dots). The higher the resolution, the more information can be contained in the same screen.

For a CRT that can support a resolution of 1280×1024, whether it is a resolution of 320×240 or 1280×1024, it can perform perfectly (because the electron beam can be adjusted flexibly). However, the maximum resolution of the LCD module may not be the most suitable resolution, because if the 17-inch display reaches a resolution of 1280×1024, the fonts of Windows will be very small, and the eyes will be fatigued after a long time, so the the best resolution of 17-inch display is should be 1024×768.

2. The contrast of LCD module

The control ICs, filters and oriented films used in the manufacture of LCD panels are related to the contrast of the panel. For general users, a contrast ratio of 350:1 is sufficient, but such a contrast ratio in the professional field cannot satisfy the needs of users.

Relative to CRT monitors easily reach a contrast ratio of 500:1 or even higher. Only high-end liquid crystal displays can achieve this level. Because the contrast of the liquid crystal display module is difficult to accurately measure with the instrument, it is better to look at it yourself when you pick it.
